Richard Northcutt, along with Jim, Jean and Elizabeth Keathley of the Cannon Carriage Driving Center, created the Valhalla Shakespeare Project whose mission is:

To present the works of the greatest dramatist in the English language in free outdoor performances at Valhalla Farms in rural Middle Tennessee;

To eschew the formal, classical production in favor of a simpler, more casual approach – to focus on text rather than tech;

To provide an opportunity for community actors to work with and be mentored by actors who have professional experience;

To assemble resources and information about the plays in production and to make these materials available to educators who may want to use them in their curricula.
